Affinity Design and Why I Love It
Painting With Ipad For digital painting and illustration on the Ipad, there are many great choices for apps. Procreate is a wonderful sketching and painting tool, but it lacks vector ability. For the longest time, I used a couple of vector apps, then exported to use on Procreate. THis worked fine, but then Affinty Design came out for the Ipad..Wow! This app can handle both vector tools and pixel drawing and painting. Now, I still prefer the feel of Procreate better. Somehow the brushes seem to be easier to use and don't require that much configuration in order foe obe to have very usable brushes. However, I wanted to challenge myself to create an illustration using both vector and pixel tools using Affinity design. There are some incredible features that make this work so well. One of my favorite is the automatic clipping masks that are created when inserting a pixel layer over a vector layer. You can paint directly over a shape, and only the shape gets marked, not the ent
